GENERAL NOTICE TO ALL INTERESTED INVESTORS IN PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP FOR HOSTEL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF UYO

REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR PROVISION OF STUDENTS’ HOSTELS AT UNIVERSITY OF UYO CAMPUSES, UYO, AKWA IBOM STATE

1.0 Introduction
1.1 The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) intends to provide a 12,000-bed capacity students’ hostel across its campuses through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement. The project involves the Design, Finance, Build, Equip, Maintain, Operate, and Transfer (DFBEMOT) of cost-effective and modern students’ hostels to accommodate students within the five campuses of the University of Uyo, located in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
1.2 In furtherance of the above, the University of Uyo hereby invites suitable, reputable, and competent firms/consortia to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the Provision of Students’ Hostels at University of Uyo Campuses, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.

2.0 SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
2.1 To design and construct a safe, functional, and cost-effective hostel complex equipped with all necessary ancillary facilities, to serve as residential accommodation for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The architectural and structural design must comply with the National Universities Commission (NUC) Guidelines for the construction of students’ hostels.
2.2 The project shall be executed under a Design, Build, Finance, Maintain, Operate, and Transfer (DBFMOT) PPP arrangement between the Institution and the Investor. Each hostel development shall consist of a minimum of 1,200 bed spaces (for both male and female students), comprising single-occupancy and double-occupancy rooms.
