Background

In line with ongoing efforts of the TAIMAKO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (TCDI) in implementing a project titled “Promoting Inclusive Education and Vocational Training in Nigeria (Pro-IEVTiN” co-funded by the German Government (BMZ) and Supported by Christoffel Blinden Mission (CBM) in Yobe state. There is a recognized need to engage youth through structured extracurricular activities. This initiative seeks to integrate Peacebuilding/Conflict Resolution with Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) education. By establishing school-based clubs, the project aims to cultivate a culture of hygiene and communal harmony among students.

  1. Purpose of the Consultancy

The purpose of this consultancy is to develop a user-friendly, participatory, and context-appropriate Peace/WASH Club curriculum and training guide, including educational board games and activity tools that promote peacebuilding, conflict resolution, hygiene promotion, sanitation practices, teamwork, and inclusion.

  1. Objective: Objectives of the Assignment

The consultant will be expected to:

  • Develop a structured curriculum and facilitator guide for Peace/WASH Clubs.

  • Use low-cost, locally available materials: cardboard, bottle caps, stones, seeds, printed or hand-drawn cards, dice made from clay or wood. Nothing that requires specialized production or regular reprinting.
  • Come with complete, tested rules, setup diagrams, facilitator instructions, and a simple production guide so clubs can build their own copies.
  • Are scalable in complexity — playable in 20–30 minutes for quick club meetings, but with optional expansion or variation for longer workshop sessions.
  • Work for both contexts: (a) during facilitator training workshops as a teaching and simulation tool, and (b) during regular club meetings as a recurring, member-led activity.
