Recruitment of a Consultant for Strengthening Women’s Economic Capacity in Fisheries Value Chains and Promoting Women’s Representation and Leadership in Natural Resource Governance in the Chad Basin.

1. The Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) has received funding from the African Development Bank Group to cover the cost of the Technical Support Project for the Restoration of the Ecological and Economic Functions of the Lake Chad Basin. The Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) intends to use a portion of the funds provided under this grant to finance the contract for Strengthening Women’s Economic Capacities in Fisheries Value Chains and Promoting Women’s Representation and Leadership in Natural Resource Governance in the Lake Chad Basin.

2. The services to be provided under this contract include: conducting a gender diagnostic analysis within the governance of natural resources and the water sector in LCBC member countries; the development of a Strategic Action Plan for gender mainstreaming in LCB natural resource management and the development of a Technical Guide on gender-responsive budgeting in the water sector, adapted to national frameworks.

3. The duration of the service is four (4) months from the date of notification for the start of the service, as determined by the Project Coordinator.

4. The Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) invites CSOs and specialized firms to submit proposals to provide the services described above. Interested CSOs and firms should provide information on their capacity and experience to demonstrate that they are qualified to perform the services (documentation, references for similar services, experience in comparable projects, availability of qualified personnel, etc.)

5. The eligibility criteria, shortlist and selection procedure will be in line with the Procurement Framework for Bank Group-Financed Operations, October 2015 edition, available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.

6. 7.
